So much is in plan and a brighter future for anyone who is acknowledged as a member, togetherness brings development. The AGM was attended by our partners Co-operative Bank, CIC Group, Mcjoel Associates, KUSCCO and the Mombasa Region Officer, Ministry of co-operatives Madam Jackline Kemboi. This was an Event organized by the Sacco Management Team under the Marketing Department through the Education Committee, an event specifically for Siginon Sacco where by the office went mobile to all sites where members are for the purpose of introducing the office team to members and vice-versa. Again an event aimed at meeting members queries and complains, suggestions and opinions, and offering services to members through the office team in a unique way. It was also an event for sharing the mile stones achieved by the Sacco to members and recruitment of non-members.
Sacco day was of it’s kind an event that has never been organized before, an eye opener, confidence and trust builder to partners and members. Greased with all approvals from the board through the education committee it closed with success in all visited sites with members being gifted with branded T-shirts and Bags after taking part in dancing competitions and other activities.
There was a good number in attendance for all sites and a total recruitment of 11 members and a good sale of loan products. Siginon SACCO Joins other Sacco’s in Mombasa for Ushirika day celebrations on the Saturday, 1st July 2023. The event which was themed “Cooperatives for Sustainable Development” graced by the Ministry of cooperatives officials and other Mombasa county officials.
Since 1923, cooperatives from around the world have been observing the day in recognition of the significant economic impact cooperative movement has had on the world and the role it has played to building a more sustainable future.
The event also aims to raise awareness about cooperatives, the principles of the movement and the dedication of cooperatives to building a just future for everyone.
Siginon SACCO was listed and acknowledged among other saccos and awarded Three(3) certificates of merit under tier 3 category for being the BEST IN CREDIT MANAGEMENT, BEST COOPERATIVE SOCIETY NON-REGULATED and MOST INNOVATIVE. All this was achieved through the togetherness culture from top management and members. Sacco Also took part in the Tag of War competition though didn’t win a trophy but remains an activity we will not miss to participate.

The growth of Siginon Sacco has been so visible regardless of the challenges and the past straggles and this could not stop the Ministry of Co-operatives from acknowledging our progress. Being under the tier 3 category, amongst other Saccos we had a moment to receive our certificates.
SUCCESSFUL AGM AGAIN
Sacco Held its Annual General Meeting on 22nd April 2023 at Siginon Global Logistics Mombasa – Transport Yard being a review of the year ended 31st December 2022. The weather was really a threat to this meeting, but members showed how they valued the Sacco and attended in large numbers. Special Thanks to Mr. Nashon Oloo, Francis Sungu & Madam Ann Luke who travelled all the way from Nairobi for the AGM to represent their fellow members from that side. We also appreciate the Ministry of Co-operatives, CIC Group, Co-operative Bank, Loftiers Ltd, KUSCCO Ltd for sending their representatives.
DIVIDENDS & INTERESTS
We managed to declare 3% on deposits and 12% on share capital as a return to our members and this was higher compared to year 2021. Being a growing Sacco with over 540 members, we are grateful for the growth and support from members through their continuous savings and borrowing culture.
